Royal Victoria gains Vice Patron certificate

It has been another busy month for Royal Victoria Lodge No 1013 at Liverpool Masonic Hall in Hope Street. The regular monthly lodge meeting was opened by the master Steve Dovaston in the usual manner.

Following the transaction of standard lodge business, the room was prepared for the admission of two candidates, father and son, Henry and Kyle Spinks, who had previously been successfully balloted for at the previous meeting. It was only at the last meeting that the WM Steve Dovaston was installed and new officers invested, so a double initiation would be a welcome challenge to them.

Steve and his senior and junior wardens Stephen Lee and Tom Kelly respectively, conducted the initiation in splendid style, with Tom presenting and explaining the working tools of an entered apprentice Freemason. Simon Stanley carried out the workings from the north-east corner, while Ray Moore gave a scintillating rendition of ‘the charge’.

With the closing of the lodge, the members moved to the banquet room of the Adams Suite for the festive board. It was here that the Liverpool Group Charity Steward Barry Fletcher took the opportunity to present a Vice Patron certificate for the MCF 2021 Festival. Steve Dovaston, with Royal Victoria Lodge charity steward Allan Glaysher, received the certificate on behalf of the lodge and promised the lodge was working towards achieving full patronage in the future.
