Brethren gathering at Liverpool Masonic Hall witnessed the annual ceremony of installation for Commercial Travellers Lodge No 2631 in the Adams suite. The principal guest for the evening was Assistant Provincial Grand Master Robert Wright accompanied by fellow grand officer Roy Pyne along with Liverpool Group Vice Chair David Johnson.

The lodge was opened by WM and installing master Ian Pye, ably assisted by the officers of the lodge, under the watchful eye of the director of ceremonies Jason Hengler.

The ceremony of installation began with the presentation of master elect Thomas (Tom) Williams, who was superbly installed into the chair of King Solomon by Ian, who would later give an explanation of the working tools in all three degrees. His rendition of the address to the WM was again done in exemplary fashion, as were the dress to the wardens delivered by Roy Pyne and that to the brethren by Robert Wright.

Tom’s first duty as WM was to present a number of charitable donations on behalf of the lodge to Robert. These amounted to £550, with £300 to the MCF 2021 Festival, £100 to the Tithebarn Home, £100 to Liverpool Masonic Hall Building Fund and £50 to a local private charity. Robert thanked Tom and the brethren for their donations on behalf of the recipients.

The evening had a very lively atmosphere throughout with the brethren taking a full-hearted involvement, which was evident at the festive board with plenty of good natured banter to accompany an excellent meal.

The lodge sent flowers to Robert’s wife, while a bottle of Scotland’s finest liquid was presented to both Robert and Dave Johnson at the festive board. A thoroughly pleasant evening for all.
